Hi! I’m Dr. Ayesha

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in San Diego with a PhD in Philosophy- but you might also call me a “feelings philosophizer.” I work with individuals and couples who are looking for a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings, while gaining tangible tools to help cope with daily stressors.

I help humans struggling with significant life changing events or transitional stages in their life. Anxiety and fear-based thoughts can arise when we are confronted with change-I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help people who are moving through big or small transitional phases. My prior career as a university professor has provided me with insight into the specific struggles of college and graduate students. Whether it’s a new career, a new relationship, grieving a loss or any other life event- I can provide an open, judgement free space for you to process through thoughts and feelings, while gaining the skills you need to move forward.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help people who are moving through big or small transitional phases.

I support couples who long for a more loving, intimate relationship but feel lost or feel that their communication or areas of conflict are beyond repair.  I provide practical relationship skills and guidance so that you and your partner can reconnect and passionately give and receive love from one another.  Having completed levels 1 & 2 of formal training from the Gottman Institute, I utilize Gottman techniques to transform your relationship into a beautiful, intimate experience.

I help people who are dealing with challenges such as post-partum depression/anxiety, infertility, pregnancy loss, processing an abortion, (and related issues). I provide stress management and coping skills for those undergoing IUI/IVF and also help couples experiencing relationship strain due to infertility. I help with processing major life decisions such as choosing to adopt, use donor gametes or a surrogate, or deciding to be child-free. You don't have to feel alone in struggling with these deeply personal and painful experiences. I have achieved level 3 mental health certification from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and use this training to help clients persevere and eventually overcome even the most painful challenges.

I come from a mixed background both ethnically and religiously and identify as a woman of color. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and feel strongly about human/animal rights. I truly believe that personal transformation can heal your relationships, upgrade your life, and change the world. I hope you join me in becoming an even better version of yourself by contacting us today.
